South Africa’s Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Jayden Schaper will seek to join an illustrious list of Alfred Dunhill Championship winners who have gone on to win Majors when they tee it up in The PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club from 14-17 May.

Bezuidenhout and Schaper form part of a South African challenge that includes Casey Jarvis, Aldrich Potgieter and Garrick Higgo who will contest the second Major of the year.

As previous winners of the Alfred Dunhill Championship, the two South Africans will now look to join the championship’s “Major Club” which includes Adam Scott, Justin Rose, Charl Schwartzel, Ernie Els and Louis Oosthuizen.

Schaper, who made his DP World Tour breakthrough with his victory in the 2025 Alfred Dunhill Championship, will make his Major debut in The PGA Championship.

“You play the game to get into Majors and win them, and that’s how you get your name into the history books,” he said of this new phase of his career.

The 25-year-old also leads a new generation of South Africans in the game, and as his country’s highest ranked golfer in the world at 65th.

The trio of Schaper, Jarvis and Potgieter are all under the age of 25 and the top three highest ranked South African golfers in the world.
